Collection: Hundred-meter Skyward Dragon Kiln Wood-fired Jian Zhan
The Skyward Dragon Kiln Wood-Fired Jian Zhan series is fired in a 100-meter mountain dragon kiln in Jianyang, Fujian. This large stepped kiln creates natural temperature gradients and shifting flame paths throughout the firing process, conditions that cannot be replicated in modern electric kilns.
Wood is the only fuel. During firing, flame movement, oxygen levels, airborne ash, and kiln position interact continuously, and each chamber behaves differently. As a result, every cup reflects its exact placement within the kiln and the specific conditions of that firing cycle.
Season, humidity, and fuel condition also influence glaze transformation. Because these variables cannot be precisely controlled, large dragon kiln firing is technically demanding and yields are low.
This series includes only the highest-grade pieces selected from each firing cycle.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using locally sourced iron-rich clay and natural iron-bearing mineral glaze.
