Forged Rust is a jujube-rust iron glaze formed through wood firing in a 60-meter Skyward Dragon Kiln at approximately 1350 °C. High-iron clay (>12%) and natural mineral glaze undergo iron migration and surface crystallization under prolonged flame travel and alternating oxidation–reduction conditions.
This piece presents concentrated crystalline formation, with localized butterfly-like morphology at the microscopic level. The crystallization remains clustered, shaped by kiln position, heat accumulation, and thermal variation during firing.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using local iron-rich clay and natural mineral glaze. Individually numbered.
