DaisyFlare is a tea-dust glaze expression within the Daisy Series, formed through traditional dragon-kiln wood firing. Variations in flame movement, ash interaction, and kiln atmosphere shape the development of iron crystallization across the glaze surface.
Iron crystals formed radiating petal-like patterns characteristic of the DaisyFlare variation. Localized kiln conditions produced rare blue-toned kiln transformation on both the interior and exterior surfaces beneath a raised crystalline layer, creating additional depth and dimensionality within the glaze.
The large vessel form further increases firing difficulty, as stable crystallization and kiln transformation become harder to maintain during prolonged high-temperature wood firing.
Handmade in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian, using local iron-rich clay and naturally iron-bearing mineral glaze.
